BLAH!

It is that day of the week again. BLAH (Biggest Loser: At Home) weigh-in.  Thankfully, I feel anything but “blah” about the results of my week!  I’m down 4.6 lbs and quite pleased.

I worked very hard for this loss, believe me.  This includes running 49.23K since last Friday’s weigh-in, plus two sessions on the recumbent bike and two 30 minute Turbo Sculpt work-outs.  Not too shabby, eh?  This 1/2 marathon has me really motivated to get out there and make myself as strong as I can before I do the March 13th race in Abby!  (16 more days!  Eeeek!)

I’ve also been really good about food planning this week.  Being organized means I always have good food options available, plus I am able to budget calories/Points for the times I know I will be eating out and don’t have control of all the options. I’ve also got excited about healthy cooking and new “clean” recipes, which is  fun.  (Though we’ll see how long this lasts!) Tonight I tried a new grain recipe made with farro or wheatberries and it was delicious!   Will definitely be making this side dish again!  (Andy LOVED it!)

And speaking of hubby, my man just started his own guys’ version of the BLAH challenge. So I’ve got a healthy eating and exercising companion, which is an added encouragement to cook healthy meals.   Thankfully he is game to try whatever I make, and is always very appreciative – the perfect person to cook for!  (Now my kids are another story! :S)

So there you have it, my Friday report and weigh-in. I’m hoping to have another healthy week again this week, though I don’t expect the scale to jump down like that again.  Just going to plug away and hope that it heads down by a 1, or maybe 2.

Hope you all have a great and healthy week-end.

  3. Hey Niki!!!! Just catching up on your posts now and I am so impressed!!! Almost 50k in one week…INSANE!!!! Can’t wait to see how the half goes, sounds like you’ll be good and ready 🙂 I have 4 pounds to lose before Maya’s birthday in 19 days, so this is a nice little inspiration/ kick in the pants 🙂

  4. You did all your weight loss before your daughter’s first birthday! Congrats on that! I was never able to pull that off, that is for sure! After #3, I waited till she was about 14 months to really get going, which I regret. I won’t be too hard on myself though. Just glad I did it!
